- I’m seriously addicted to Farmville. It’s the perfect game for someone stuck in front of a computer all day long with not much to do. Perfect.
- I had a headache all day yesterday. It just kept coming back, like some sort of bad booty call.
- Taylor Swift is just about on my last nerve. She needs to sit down for awhile. We get it, Taylor. Trust me, we get it.
- At work today, we’re having little kids come through in costumes to go trick-or-treating. How is it that I’m the only one excited about this? Kids in costumes are the best.
- I got to hang out with Ms. MM this weekend for the first time in months (the last time being the Inauguration trip). It was nice seeing the person you talk to every day on Gchat.
- I’m getting ready to “write” again…you know…like actual fiction writing. I have an idea that I think is a real winner, if I do say so myself. But the thing is that it’s going to take a lot out of me emotionally–so I’m bracing myself.
- I’ve decided that I’m not a fan of car salesmen. Maybe car saleswomen are better. I should have tried that theory out.
- My Dad’s birthday is on Halloween. I think that explains a lot.
- NaBloPoMo is coming up, as is NaNoWriMo. For those not in the know, that is National Blog Posting Month and National Novel Writing Month. The goal of the first is to make a blog post every day for the month of November. The goal of the second is to write a 50,000 word first draft of a novel in a month. I attempted NaBloPoMo last year and I’m considering trying it again. It kind of renews my zest of blogging. But NaNoWriMo strikes me as impossible. My inspiration doesn’t come at 1500 words per day every day.
- I promised I’d do this meme for Sophie. Feel free to steal.

Yay for NaBloPoMo! I wish that I could do NaNoWriMo to get me started with the whole fiction writing thing, but I’ll be spending a week in Turkey, so that won’t be happening!
farmville = the death of me. my entire family is on it, and our dinner conversations even revolve around it.
i want to do both NaBloPoMo AND NaNoWriMo, but i really want to try nanowrimo, so i’m going to give it a go. it will certainly be a test of my sanity!
I find saleswomen universally worse then their male counterparts (though I’ve never met a cars saleswoman)
I am ashamed that I like a couple Taylor Swift songs, even though they are awful, and I have ranted (jokingly) about how “Love Story” sends a terrible message to young girls.
How is the waiting on grad school going? Am I reading your comments right that you start school in January?
THANK YOU! for the Taylor Swift sentiments. Couldn’t agree more.
First: “like a bad booty call”? HILARIOUS.
Second: I’m doing NaNoWriMo and have just decided to say, “Fuck it” if I don’t hit 50,000 words. And keep writing into December. And January. And so on, until my novel is finished. This is a good starting point, but I know it’s not an endpoint.
But if you want to write a novel, you should do it!
Thanks for doing it Kim! Also I agree. Taylor Swift: Sshhhh. And Target: Best place on earth. But Farmville? I’ve never heard of it, and from the sounds of it, maybe it’s like crack. I’m nervous..
Good luck with your novel! I’d read it.
Fun post. I’ve never heard of Farm Ville or NaBloPoMo. Hope you’re feeling better today. Your new writing project sounds exciting.
I love kids in costumes, so cute! I might try to do the blogging everyday, but I’m bad about writing lately. I read everyone’s blogs everyday, but I lack motivation to write my own.
I have not really paid much attention to Taylor Swift lately. What is she doin?
NaBloPoMo took too much out of me last year, so I’m skipping it this year.
I’m excited that you have another fiction idea! I am always so impressed with people who write fiction.
I know I would LOVE to do NaNoWriMo, but I just couldn’t pump out that many words in a month and be happy with it. Also, time is reeeeally of the essence lately, as in I don’t have much! Same with NaBloPoMo (that sounds naughty), I just don’t have the time to post eeeevery day, and I don’t want to just post for the sake of posting. Argh!
I added a comment earlier, but it’s not showing up!
Anyhow, it said “NaBloPoMo?! Challenge accepted!”
I tried NaNoWriMo last year. I made it through the first weekend. I just don’t create at that pace. I know it’s about quantity and not quality. But still. The only way I’d ever make it is if I just went all-out-absurd. Hmm.
I have a coworker that’s obsessed with Farmville and to be honest I just don’t get it… it seems so weird to me… lol
The great things about kids in costumes are:
1. They’re cute.
2. They’re really cute.
3. You give them candy, and then they go away before they get a chance to get sticky!
P.S. I’m stealing the meme and stashing it for later.
I’ve never participated in NaBloPoMo – I’m scared! Haha! I mean, I don’t have quite so much to say, but then again maybe it’ll encourage me to be mroe creative? Mmm. Something to think about.
I’m sorry you had a bad headache!
I am so participating in NaBloPoMo! I’m a little nervous, but I think it’s the perfect challenge since I’ve been neglecting my blog so much lately.
I liked this post. I think I should do more like this…I like how random it is.
If it makes you feel any better, I’ve had a sinus headache that hasn’t gone away in months. I’d be jumping for joy if all it lasted was a day. I swear that I’m starting to think that I’m allergic to myself. Do they even make a shot or pill for that?
I heard about the novel challenge on another blog last week. Knowing my tendency to procrastinate, I’d wait until the last week and try to churn out all 50,000 words in a few days time. That worked pretty well on term papers in college. An actual novel? I’m thinking not so much.
Good luck on both challenges.
