Last year I decided that one of the fruits of a Thanksgiving feast was to thank the people that influenced your life in the past year. Some of the most influencial people in our lives tend to be those that we feel like we know better than our own friends or family–bloggers. Therefore, I created the Thank You For Blogging Awards, to be given out in the days surrounding Thanksgiving.
Here are the rules:
1. Each recipient who receives a TYFBA must give away at least four (4) TYFBAs
2. Each recipient must describe, in at least three words why they are giving that person the award.
3. Each recipient must gobble. Just kidding…I just wanted three rules.

Last year I gave away ten of these. This year, I’m going for fifteen.
1. The Change I Wish To See–This year f.B. came out as himself–Brad. And over the course of the year, he gave me and his other readers things to laugh about, things to think about and a general sense of belonging.
2. Livit, Luvit–No thank you would be complete without thanking LiLu for blogging. She has made me laugh out loud (yes, LOL) on more occasions than I can recount. And I hope the laughing continues.
3. When Life Hands Me Lemons, I Have to Take Prozac–This award isn’t for being a great friend IRL (that’s “in real life’ for those not in the know), although she is. This is for being a great blogger and a great blog friend.
4 ‘Bama on the Brain–She just started blogging over the past year and has taken NaBloPoMo as a signal to pick up her frequency in blogging, and I’m thankful for that.
5. Dharma Drama–Although she doesn’t post as frequently as I’d like, her posts are always insightful as all hell. It’s gotta be hard to pull off that kind of dramatic insight as often as she does.
6. Cattails–She’s been through a lot this year, and that alone deserves an award. But it’s the way in which she’s dealt with loss and love that earned her this award.
7. Tapdancing in the Dark–Never comes a day when I don’t at least get a chuckle out of her posts. Whether it’s about her pets, her now-husband or her life in general, she keeps me laughing on a consistent basis.
8. Twentysomethings–A fellow writer, a fellow blogger and someone who is always making me laugh.
9. Rachel, Not Rebecca–Although our political leanings might be divergent, our sense of waiting for something isn’t…and her sense of capturing the angst of that waiting is on point.
10. Stylish Handwriting–I found E.P.’s blog only recently, but I’ve loved it from day one. She’s honest while being entertaining. That in and of itself is refreshing.
11. Insomniac Lolita–An amazing talent not only in writing, but she has a music career. A music career! Fabulous.
12. Free and Flawed–Always something interesting to say and she says it so well. Check her out this month for the chance to win a laptop!
13. Late Night Drama Queen–A fabulous blogger who has taken up the cause of open letters…and hers are hilariously funny.
14. Carissa Jaded Blog–A blogger who can take the random and make it interesting.
15. The Skinny on my Jeans (Genes)–A newish blogger who has a lot to say. She also stroked my ego the other week when she reviewed my blog. Flattery will get you everywhere around here.

Thank you Kim! I’m so glad you understand the angst of waiting – having someone to wait with is making the process more bearable. If I don’t get a chance to say it later this week I hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
