- Sorry for the cop-out of a Random Thoughts post today. I just got back from a meeting and can’t seem to focus on anything of substance. Meetings do that to me.
- Rocky the Dog is doing fine and was back to his old self last night. I caught him trying to lick the incisions twice, but that’s expected. Frankly, if he hadn’t tried I’d think something was wrong.
- Why does my Tim Hortons coffee get cold so damn quickly? Do they have special cups that allow too much air in? What is it?
- I’m such a geek. I keep checking to see if the online site for my classes is up yet…a month before classes start. I’m probably the only one who bothers checking this..e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y.
- Most, if not all, of my Christmas shopping will be done online this year. I’m not dealing with stores and people. Give me e-mail and websites any day of the week.
- By moving to my next writing project, I’ve let go of some of the anxiety surrounding my previous project (e.g., getting an agent). It’s nice to feel a bit freer. Though, I have to admit, I’d like at least one of the agents who has my manuscript to get back to me with a positive answer soon. I don’t know how long I can keep this positive attitude up.
- My Christmas tree is crooked and I can’t fix it. I had to buy a generic tree stand as the clearance tree I bought at the end of the season last year had no stand with it. I think I did something wrong because now I have the Leaning Tower of Christmas Tree in my living room.
- Do any of you watch Dexter? Did you see the twist last week coming? I didn’t at all. That show is so good this season. John Lithgow freaks me out.
What’s on your mind?

This season of Dexter might be the best yet, which is saying a lot. What a wonderfully creepy villain! Even more sinister than the murderous prosthetist who delighted in cutting people up.
I’ve got to get on this Dexter train, yes?
Gaaaaaaaah!!!! Do not post any Dexter spoilers! I don’t have cable so I can’t watch it until it comes out on DVD! God I love that show.
I watch Dexter, like other shows, on DVD…meaning I won’t get to see John Lithgow for a year or so…
I’m also most definitely shopping Etsy style this year… I wish you luck on your next project, and getting an agent!
I love dexter but I haven’t watched any of this season yet. I think I may have to make this weekend a catchup weekend. I keep hearing so much about it!
I’ve never watched “Dexter” but yes, John Lithgow has always scared me. LOL. I’m definitely going to rent the DVDs, heard lots of good things about this show.
I’m hungry. That’s what’s on my mind. I’m hungry and I don’t want to be working. I’ll be thankful when this week is over and I won’t have a job anymore.
Is that bad? lol
I’ve missed this wwwhhhoolllee season of Dexter. It’s killing me.
Ha.ha.
Love, love, love Dexter. Best season yet!
Love Dexter but no spoilers! We haven’t seen any of this season yet because we don’t have premium channels. Boo to us, but there you go.
‘the leaning tower of christmas tree’
You crack me up!
I did not see that twist coming either! I’m usually good at catching them, but not this time – I kept waiting for Anton to come back…
Glad to hear Rocky is doing good! I miss you!
boys. that’s what’s on my mind. boys. *sigh*
My roommate is watching Dexter on DVD through Netflix. I watched one or two episodes with her, but it didn’t really click with me. At least, not enough for me to detach myself from Bejeweled on Facebook or the Friends marathon in my room
(what finals?!)
Oh, and at this very moment the peppermint creamer in my fridge is on my mind because I need to make coffee. Related – got a cute thermos to put it in, looking forward to using it for the first time!
And dominating the coffee thoughts: Administrative Law.
Ha! When I moved into my first apartment in college, there was an old Christmas tree just hanging out in a box in one of the closets, and so I claimed it as my own. I STILL use that tree, and the whole time I’ve had it it has been missing a leg so I have had to either lean it up against a wall or a corner or else prop it up with something, and it turns out my copy of Emily Post’s Etiquette plus one DVD case is the perfect height.
