New Beginnings: Drop of Ink, A Bloggers’ and Writers’ Journal

It must seem like I never have enough to do.  At least that’s what one would think once they found out I’m starting a new project.  Do I strive to be an overactive overachiever?  No.  Well…maybe.  Either way, something new and exciting is on the horizon and I couldn’t be happier.

This is the GRAND OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT (notice the caps) of the creation of “Drop of Ink:  A Bloggers’ and Writers’ Journal.”  What is that you ask?   Well, I’m glad you did…

The mission of DROP OF INK is to provide bloggers and writers everywhere a space to publish, promote and promulgate.  We exist to create a dialogue between bloggers, writers and readers within which true change may come.

DROP OF INK is published quarterly online in an easy-to-share format that can be printed or saved for posterity.

Think of DROP OF INK as your home away from home.  Whether you blog, journal, draft or write, DROP OF INK is there to put your words out to a larger audience.

In other words, it’s your chance to get published and share your work with other bloggers and writers all over.  My goal is to create a printable/saveable digest of writing to be shared and distributed freely to grow our audiences, create publishing opportunities and focus on issues of interest to all of us.

Drop of Ink‘s first issue will be published in April.  Deadline for submissions will be March 1, 2010.  The theme:  Beginnings and Endings.

What can you submit?  The possibilities are endless:

  • Blog posts
  • Essays
  • Song lyrics
  • Poetry
  • Photography
  • Visual art
  • Journal Entries
  • Potent e-mail conversations
  • Short stories
  • Written performance pieces
  • Reflections
  • Things written on napkins in the dead of night (and later translated to the digital form in one way or another)
  • Musings
  • Lists
  • Letters, open or otherwise
  • And so on… (use your imagination)

This issue’s deadline for submissions is March 1, 2010.  All submissions should be sent by e-mail to  For non-visual art and non-photography, please either use the body of the e-mail or a Word document.

This is a project near and dear to my heart and is part of The Life Project’s series of goals.  Let’s join together and create something truly amazing!
