Random Thoughts

  • While flipping through the radio on the way to work, I came across two morning DJs talking about how the one has given up on The Office.  He finally had enough with the crappy writing that has been going on.  Frankly, I felt like calling in (and I never feel like calling in) and asking him what took so long.  I mean, The Office hasn’t been good for a few years now–which is sad considering the talent on that show and how amazing it used to be.  It also isn’t surprising considering that morning show usually sucks hardcore…maybe mediocrity is okay with that group.

Remember when this show was really good? Yeah, me too.

  • An acquaintance on FB always takes her son to Disney World every year.  That alone draws a bit of side eye from me…I mean how amazing can Disney World be if you go every single year without fail?  But here’s the kicker: her son is only three.  He won’t remember a lick of this.  It’s a good thing that family has money to burn, because they’ve certainly lit it on fire this time.

This will be her son in ten years.

  • I have no words for this.  Just…no words.
  • All of a sudden my lips are uber chapped. What’s up with that?  I guess I need to drink more water or something.

  • You know what I’m done with? New shows.  I can’t keep up with all the shows I watch, let alone the ones people tell me I should watch, and yet you keep making new shows on top of it.  What’s worse is that you keep making new shows that suck and expect me to watch them.  I don’t even have the time, but if I did I think I’d pick up a book instead.

Might as well.

  • Last night I had a dream that I was hanging out with some of the Kardashians.  Oddly, they lived in my parents’ neighborhood in a totally normal ranch style home from the mid 1970s.  I don’t remember much, but I know Khloe and Kim and Bruce Jenner were there.  And tennis was somehow involved.

I think maybe it was a nightmare.

Miss Josaphine Pott-her.

What’s on your mind today?

I can only assume that the morning show in question was not Drew and Mike, as they were never mediocre. Of course, I haven’t lived in MI to listen to them in a decade, so they may not even be on anymore (cue sad “wah-wah-wah” music).

I never watch new TV – I watch shows on Netflix either a) once they’re off the air completely, or b) once they’ve gotten a few seasons under their belt, so I know when the shark has been jumped and I can stop watching. I’m working my way through the old Star Trek shows now, since I didn’t watch them when new.

The last and only time I was at Disney, I was in Orlando for a conference, and it was last August. Hot as hell, and full of screaming, ice-cream-begging-for 4 year olds who won’t remember it anyways. If you’re going to blow that kind of money, do it once, and wait until the kid is old enough to ride the good shit anyways – you can ride teacups at the state fair.

I can only hope that it was my old house that the Kardashians were living in 😉

Unfortunately it was not your house. But it was a house we frequented quite a bit over the years…one that also used to have a pool in back. Oddly, your old house is up for sale again.

It wasn’t Drew and Mike. They got waaaaaaaaaaaay too conservative politically speaking during the 2008 election and I couldn’t handle it anymore. (This was especially true for Mike.) It was always sexist but now it was down right misogynistic and borderline racist. I found myself getting more upset than having laughs. They also gave those producers more air time and I can’t stand them.

I went to Disney World when I was 7 and I have trouble remembering it. I do remember some, though, so I think that’s a decent age. My brother was 3 at the time and doesn’t remember any of it. So much for memories. The only reason we went then is because my parents had friends that just had moved down there.

Okay…so…Michelle Williams wants to do a Dawson’s reunion…after her character died…that doesn’t make sense to me. Whatsoever. And yeah, some of the new shows are crap. I watch a few episodes and hate myself for wasting my time. Although, 2 Broke Girls (which is kind of winding down with me) and New Girl are where it’s at with me. Other than that, no thanks. Especially The Firm. Are you kidding me? It doesn’t make sense to me. John Grisham should’ve never let it happen. I’m done.

Good point! I forgot that she died in the finale. Dammit. How is her comeback even possible?

Your comment about “congrats on using a word that only my father uses” made me LOL! Thank you!

Holy crap – that picture of the boxer cracked me up!

I’m a Netflix junkie – I don’t even know what television shows are on right now.

That boxer is the newest meme. Dumfounded Dog. There are some pretty funny ones out there.

I know how to knit a cat sweater.

Also, someday you will come to my house. We will eat something delicious and watch Napoleon Dynamite, and quote it at each other while giggling hysterically.

      I would absolutely love that.

I’d pay you to knit me a cat sweater, but I’d probably get murdered trying to put it on my cats.

Don't just sit there...say something.
