Word of the Year: GIF

in All About Me

Oh, Oxford Dictionaries.  Usually I hate your end of the year pronouncements about the state of the written and spoken word.  Frankly, I don’t care about words being added to the dictionary or most overused words or anything of the like.  But this year, you hit me right in the feelings, Ox. (may I call you that?  good.)

That’s because this year, you named “GIF” Word of the Year.  And I couldn’t agree more.  You even posted highlights from the year that made GIF.  Unfortunately, PCL was not on the list of GIF pushers.  That’s okay.  Some other awesome blogs were.

So in the spirit of this epic announcement, I am going to describe my current state of being using GIFs for the second time in the history of PCL.  I hope you take note, Ox, and amend your article to include me.

When I remember that Election Day went about 90% my way last week…

When I hear the variety of horribly condescending, racist and sexist excuses made by the GOP as to why they lost…

When I try to go to bed and start getting rammed in the lungs and bladder by my growing spawn…

When I eat an entire bag of crazy bread in less than 10 minutes…

When I tell my mom this and she tells me that I should be eating more vegetables instead…

What I’d like to tell this stupid rash that’s taken over my body…

When I hear that the guy that controls Elmo was accused of having sex with an underaged individual…

When the temperature dropped forty degrees in one day…

Five minutes later when my body temperature was still too warm for any blankets…

When The Mister eats the last of something I was saving for myself…

When I realize that I only have two months of child-free life left at the most…

When I realized that TWO local stations are already playing Christmas music non-stop…

When I come to work in the morning…

When my students try to give me excuses as to why they didn’t get their work done…

Half an hour after I finish the last meal…

When I get tired out from going to two stores…

I thought of you when I heard the word of the year.

The Elmo accuser says he lied about the attack. Ugh. What a mess.

I love that GIFs and memes make people think of me. I honestly really do. :)

Yes! Husbands should have to ask permission before eating anything in the house when their wife is pregnant. I don’t even have crazy cravings or anything, but I do have a mental inventory of what’s available, and when I get fixated on something and find that it’s now gone… I’m not happy.

There should be a food log for them…like an online database and I have to approve his choice beforehand.
